SIMPLeTPA is looking for healthcare partners who are focused on the patient. We do not lock in our providers or restrict their practices. We just ask that our partners be transparent and open with their patients in terms of both treatment and payment requirements. No one wants surprises when they receive a bill. We provide our Network healthcare providers a clear guarantee of payment (GOP) stating the amount the plan pays for various treatments and/or services up front; very much in line with industry standard HMO RVU rates; members will be able to find existing HMO accredited doctors who are willing to provide services at those levels. If certain providers, who have elected to not be part of a traditional HMO because the rates are not adequate, providers can charge a higher amount as long as it is communicated to and approved by the member that they will pay the additional amount in advance of undertaking treatment — we’ll still pay our part as stated in the GOP. Balanced billing provides more options for our members to utilize their benefits in the way they see fit.
